Simple Gifts

I realize that so many, probably too many, of my latest blog posts have been about baseball or soccer...but they are both such a big part of our days right now. A big part because that is what the boys are doing, and what could be better for us than being apart of what our kids are doing?
The simple pleasure of going to their games, watching them play, watching them smile, watching them make the choices in friends...mostly just watching and enjoying. I love it. I think that's why I take so many photos, to capture those moments....because I know that they will be gone much too quickly. So, another post about the boys.

Last night Brian had a soccer game at 6:00 and Billy had a baseball game at 8:00...what a perfect way to spend a beautiful evening. I had to snap a picture of these two little sweeties at Billy's game. They were there with the other team, I suspect that they were the little sisters. One was particularly interested in "wooky". Where's "wooky"? "Hi Wooky!" Wooky...I think his name was "Luke or Lukey". Too cute. The other one kept calling for Alwex. "There's Alwex!" :-) So sweet.

I don't really have much to say about the actual games, both teams played well and won....but the best part of the evening was the simple joy of just being there. The song "Tis the Gift" kept drifting through my mind. This was my evening.
'Tis the Gift
'Tis the gift to be simple,
'tis the gift to be free,

'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be,

And when we find ourselves in the place just right,

'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.

When true simplicity is gain'd,

To bow and to bend we shan't be asham'd,

To turn, turn will be our delight

'Till by turning, turning we come round right.
I hope that you can enjoy some simple pleasures today too.

p.s.....Hi Dorothy! Thanks for being a follower of my blog...and for leaving comments! We miss you!

As scorekeeper I got to see the other team's roster. Of the 11 players, 4 were named Luke!
